Failure could be daunting, but there are ways you could bounce back from a significant defeat. I am pretty sure everyone has experienced loss at some point in their lives, and we all know that the feeling of failure could be destructive to some level. Barely making the pass mark in an examination, watching your business crash, getting fired from a job or even not being called back at that job you applied for.
We need to know that there is a lot to be learnt from failure, and failure isn’t the worst thing that could happen to you. I know that failing in whatever we do stings really bad and fills us with negative thoughts and feelings. Most times, failing makes us feel worthless and less than we are; it makes us develop self-doubt.
Staying organized can be one of the most challenging and sometimes exhausting things we could do, especially in the disorganized world we live in, but it has a way of making us feel like we have our lives in order. No one is actually born organized; it takes a lot of effort and discipline, we need to get used to healthy habits.
It isn’t easy to be called the mother of modern African literature. When we talk about the likes of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, it is only fair to talk about the woman who paved the way for female African writers. Florence Nkiru Nwapa was born on the 13th of January 1931; she was a Nigerian author who was also known as the mother of modern African literature. She was the pioneer of female African writers and was the first African female novelist to be published in the English language in Britain.

Music has been my therapy for as long as i can remember. I think it’s safe to say that everyone agrees with the famous saying “music is life”, but music is more than life (if possible), it is almost impossible to find a person who doesn’t have a connection with music. I can tell you what music I was listening to at any time of my life and what I was going through; it serves as a memory jar because every song I listen to has a story to tell about me. My love for music knows no bound or genre.
People have different ways they get inspired. It is absolutely normal to feel uninspired sometimes, its I an aspect of the creative process we have all experienced at some point in our lives. So whenever you feel uninspired, take solace in the fact that it happens to all of us; I sometimes feel uninspired too. Don’t be alarmed when you feel uninspired; there is a remedy for that.
There are so many benefits of journaling; journaling has been my form of therapy session for years now. Journalling has been instrumental in my psychological, emotional and mental growth. I battled depression after my N.Y.S.C. One day I went to the mall to buy something and met this nice guy, we exchanged numbers and talked. He asked what I was doing at the moment; I told him I had just finished my service and I was searching for a job. He asked how I was coping, and I opened up to him; I told him how miserable I felt.
What do you do when life hits hard? What’s your go-to routine? How do you get through it?

In today’s article I would be telling why communication is key in every relationship. At the company I worked after my NYSC, two ladies seemed to have this tension around each other it was unspoken, but it was there; let’s give them names Cookie and Cupcake. Cookie was our HR/ Admin staff, while Cupcake was a Cooperate Relations Executive like me. Cupcake bakes, so she brings cake to the office from time to time.
Relationships in today’s society seem to be bogus and pretentious. Relationships and whatnots aren’t my strong suit, don’t get me wrong, I give excellent relationship advice. I think the starter pack to providing excellent relationship advice is not to be in one in the first place. I decided to be more daring with my writing. I am sure you all have noticed I have never really talked about relationships or love; the truth is that I suck at it.
When we talk about Mental Health, most people relate it to just how we think or act, but it goes beyond that.
Stereotyping is a mental cage in the sense that it keeps your mind closed. Don’t you hate it when you are categorized with a group of people either because of your ethnic group, gender, race or religion? It is one of my pet peeves; stereotyping is one of the few things that infuriate me
Body dysmorphia is a mental illness involving obsessive focus on a perceived flaw in appearance. The defect may be minor or imagined, but the person may spend hours a day trying to fix it.
There are some strategies on how to be consistent. I have heard many motivational speakers and whatnots say, “consistency is key”, the key to success, I guess. They don’t tell us how hard it is to be consistent. How hard it is to keep on doing that one thing amidst the trails you might face. Setting and achieving goals is the first and most crucial step on the journey to be consistent.
There are numerous ways to get glowing skin without skincare products. While growing up, I never really understood my body or, most of all, my skin. It’s sad, but I remember having minor breakouts when I hit puberty. As I grew older, the breakouts became worse; I had clogged pores and painful pimples. Sometimes I wish I knew what I know now, minor changes I would have made to my diet and hygiene.
You know that subtle yet menacing voice in your head that keeps reminding you how much of a worthless piece of crap you are, reminding you how lazy, dirty, unfortunate, ugly, or not good enough you are. I am sure this doesn’t just happen to me. Anyways if you hear that voice, those are your demons. Some of us listen to it louder than others, so we pick up self-destructive habits.
Overcoming procrastination is crucial in being the best we can be. There is an adage, “Procrastination is the thief of time”, coined by an English writer, Edward Young. My mum likes to remind me that procrastination is a thief of time; she says my national anthem is “I Will”. Do you get reluctant to do things you need or want to do? I do too
