Following the recently announced 5 million naira hate speech fine, a non-governmental organisation, Expression Now Human Rights Initiative has dragged the Federal Government before the ECOWAS Court of Justice. The group in the suit filed by its lawyer, Solomon Okedara referred to the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code (6th Edition) on fine for hate speech. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has revealed how its Group Managing Director Mele Kyari secured a $300m reduction in the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas project. In response to a Freedom of Information request jointly made by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP and Connected Development, the Federal Government says it spent N30.5 billion on efforts to curtail COVID-19.
