Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has approved resumption dates for Public and Private Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in the state. The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has revealed that 31,000 police officers would be deployed for the forthcoming September 19 Edo governorship elections. The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, who revealed this stated that the officers will be on ground to protect election officials, materials and voters as well as enforce the rules during the elections. Contrary to reports that bandits attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train, the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC says the attacks were carried out by hoodlums. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS has on Tuesday, September 15 announced that Nigeria’s inflation rate has recorded its biggest increase so far in 2020 after it rose to 13.22 per cent in August. A data released by the NBS showed that the 13.22 per cent inflation rate is the highest since April 2018. A Nigerian lawyer, Izu Aniagu has started a petition seeking to strip the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF and the Minister for Justice Abubakar Malami of his SAN title over some wrongdoings levelled against him. The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu has confirmed that a bus GGE 972 GE rammed into a moving train in Lagos on Monday. The National Agency for Foods and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC has issued a caution on alcohol abuse. In a statement signed by the Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, the agency raised concerns about the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in sachets, small volume glass and bottles. The agency also expressed concerns over the negative effects of irresponsible alcohol consumption on public health and on the safety and security of the public.
