The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has revealed that 31,000 police officers would be deployed for the forthcoming September 19 Edo governorship elections. Contrary to reports that bandits attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train, the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC says the attacks were carried out by hoodlums. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS has on Tuesday, September 15 announced that Nigeria’s inflation rate has recorded its biggest increase so far in 2020 after it rose to 13.22 per cent in August. The National Agency for Foods and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC has issued a caution on alcohol abuse. In a statement signed by the Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, the agency raised concerns about the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in sachets, small volume glass and bottles. The agency also expressed concerns over the negative effects of irresponsible alcohol consumption on public health and on the safety and security of the public.
