President Muhammadu Buhari has further extended the lockdown order issued on the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States in a nation-wide broadcast. The President who had issued a 24day cumulative lockdown on these three locations said the lockdown order would be eased but not until May 4, 2020. Nigeria Centre for Disease and Control, NCDC, has announced that 87 new cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 1182. According to NCDC, Lagos has 33 out of the 87 new cases, Borno has 18, Osun 12, Katsina 9, Kano 4, Ekiti 4, 3 in Edo and Bauchi and 1 in Imo. The Nigerian Medical Association, (NMA) has cried out, exposing those it believes are infecting its members the health workers with the Coronavirus that has killed well over one hundred and ninety-six thousand people globally. `In a statement signed by the association’s President and Secretary, Dr Francis Faduyile and Olumuyiwa Odusote respectively claimed that court medical doctors have so far tested positive for the virus. The number of Coronavirus cases in Nigeria has risen to 1095 as Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC announced 114 confirmed new cases. NCDC announced the newly confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country in a tweet on its confirmed and official Twitter handle. Ekiti State government has buried the pregnant woman who died in the state after battling with some complications from Coronavirus, coupled with prolonged labour. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Mojisola Yaya-Kolade said the woman was buried with an adequate regard to recommendations from the World Health Organisation, WHO. Enugu state government has added 25 per cent of its health workers’ basic salary as hazard allowance as it pays its workforce earlier than usual.
