There has been a report of fire accident at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC headquarters in Abuja. At the time of filing this report, the cause and extent of damage caused by the fire is still unknown. Efforts are however on to put out the fire. Details later.

Retired Pope Bendict XVI who just turned 93 has celebrated it under lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic. 93rd birthday came at a time he has stoped contacts with public to minimise his risk of contracting the virus ravaging the world. Former Pope Benedict retired about seven years ago and has since lived within the Vatican grounds. Akwa-Ibom State government has announced a two day lift of the lockdown order placed on the state to stem the spread of Coronavirus. Governor Udom Emmanuel said the lift will be from Friday to Saturday to enable the state residents re-stock foodstuffs, get medical prescriptions and other essentials. While stressing the need for social distancing, personal hygiene use of hand sanitizer among other precautionary measures, Governor Udom also announced that the lockdown order has been extended by one week. it would be recalled that Akwa-Ibom State has also had its fair share of the Coronavirus pandemic with six confirmed cases.

Three more deaths have been recorded among the Coronavirus victims in Lagos State. The stae Commissioner For Health, Professor Akin Abayomi confirmed that the number of deaths from complications from Coronavirus is now 10. Abayomi revealed that the dead victims are aged 51, 52 and 62, all males. ” Unfortunately, Lagos recorded three additional deaths from #Covid-19 related complications. The Nigeria Police Force says it has finally arrested the alleged killers of one of the Afenifere leaders Pa Reuben Fasoranti’s daughter Funke Olakunrin. Spokesperson for the force, Frank Uba, released a statement revealing that four suspects were arrested in connection to the killing of Funke Olakunrin who was murdered on July 13, 2019. Akwa-Ibom State government has confrimed that six of the Coronavirus victims in the state have been discharged from the state isolation centre at the Ibom Specialist Hospital Uyo after testing negative to the virus. A Senior Engineer and Staff of The Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Akure Ondo State Jide Bello, has accused an officer of the Nigeria Army of brutality on his way from work. A Nigerian Medical Doctor, Chugbo Emeka has died after contracting Coronavirus from a patient he reportedly treated in a private hospital in Lagos State. Report says he died after showing sever symptoms and complications from suffering the virus. The Corporate Affiars Commission, (CAC) headquaters office in Abuja is on fire, exactly one week after inferno rocked office of the Accountant- General of the Federation. Information gathered by Everyeveryng, the seven-story building came up in flames, causing tension around the Maitama area of Abuja. While confirming the fire accident, Registrar- General of the CAC, Garba Abubakar, explained that there was no loss of life or vital documents in the inferno. Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 19 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. According to the NCDC, out of the 19 new cases of Coronavirus, 14 were recorded in Lagos State. Other states who have there share in the newly confirmed cases are the Federal Capital territory, (FCT) Abuja with two, on in Kano state, one in Edo State, and one new case in Akwa-Ibom.
