President Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari will today address Nigerians as the 14days lockdown extension order issued by him expires by midnight today.
In a press statement released by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the Presidential address would hold by 8:00 pm today Monday, April 27, 2020.
I would be recalled that President Buhari had resulted to issuing a lockdown order in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja including Lagos and Ogun States to stem the rate of community spreading of Coronavirus.
Despite this lockdown order, the total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country had risen to 1,273, 40 deaths and 239 recoveries. With this, the country is currently left with about 994 active cases.
It would be necessary also to note that, all the 36 state Governors held a meeting where they all agreed to a two-week nation-wide lockdown.
The Kaduna State government has however issued a 30day lockdown in the state ahead of any updates on the governors’ meeting or from the prresidency.
