“Bless me father for I have sinned” Biola was back in the confession booth “what have you done my child” the same voice she heard the last time she came for confession asked from the other side of the booth “I made someone paralyzed, she was a friend… it was temporary paralysis but I…” Biola stopped
The Rev. Father had a feeling that she would go to the altar of the church to pray the rosary; and even though he knew it was not right for him to trace this voice he let his feelings take control and followed them to the altar of the church.
There she was Biola Kila the most beautiful and deeply disturbed woman he had ever seen. As he watched her from afar he came to his senses and decided to go back but before he could turn away, her eyes caught his and he found himself walking towards her.
Her eyes were like magnets pulling him to towards her; when he got close to her she stood up and greeted him and for lack of what to say he asked her if she was new in the church “no… not really, I used to live here, then I moved to Lagos and I just moved back” she replied.
He didn’t know what to say and he didn’t want to walk away from her, so he asked her other random things including the weather; then there was an awkward silence
“Father Samson, Samson is my name” “my name is Biola Kila” “Biola Kila, is that yoruba?” she nodded with a cute smile that he hated himself for noticing “okay, if you have any problem you can always come to me” and he walked away.
Biola was no fool she recognised the voice and knew that it was the same man she was confessing to moments ago, as she watched him walk away she wondered why he had come over. She watched him walk away until his tall big frame was out of sight. It was the beginning of something but neither of them new what it was.
That Sunday, Biola attended the last mass and to her greatest delight Father Samson was to minister; as he preached, she watched him fervently still wondering why he had walked to her the other day.
She was about to forget about the whole thing when Father Samson mistakenly called her name while he preached, and to cover up his embarrassment he said something very funny mocking her name in the process.
She laughed at the joke but asked him about it after the mass “it’s not fair, why did you mock my name?” “I’m sorry I was thinking of my cousin Biola she is supposed to visit today” it was the first of many lies Father Samson would tell Biola and himself.
From then on Father Samson became her confidant and therapist, she told him everything that was going on with her and he helped her get through it in order to become a better Christian or he tried to.
As these purported therapy sessions went on they didn’t realize how much they enjoyed each other’s company and one day when a session was over and Father Samson saw Biola out of his office she suddenly banged the door shut “Samson” she said softly taking his hand to her cheek therefore incapacitating him with desire.
She kissed his hand “Biola please stop” he begged “I’m sorry” replied kissing his lower lip, then his upper lip, by then he couldn’t control his desire so he took her with incredible passion, the kind of longing an ordinary man did not possess.
