The Federal Government has reportedly commenced discussions on how to raise the freight rate of the petrol pump price from N7.51 per litre to N9.11 per litre. The discussions with representatives of the organized labour imply a 21.30 per cent hike in petrol freight rate, which is a component of the total cost of petrol. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the extension of tenure for the Inspector General of Police, IGP Muhammed Adamu. The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, who disclosed this on Thursday said three-months was added to Adamu’s tenure as the IGP. The federal government has announced the extension of the deadline for the ongoing National Identification Number, NIN registration by eight (8) weeks.
