Men and officers of the Nigerian Army and some policemen have taken over the Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State following fresh mob attacks reported in the area in the early hours of Friday. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has imposed a 24hrs curfew on three local government areas in the state. The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC has recommended the trial and dismissal of 35 operatives of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS after they were indicted for various misconducts. The recommendation was contained in a report sent to the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami.
