Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation, particularly the youths instead of using force on them. Atiku advised the Buhari-led administration not to succumb to the temptation to use further maximum force on EndSARS protesters.
The former PDP Presidential candidate noted that the EndSARS protesters are not unreasonable but set of people who mean well and acted responsibly. He stated that this is the right time to appeal to their reason by speedily implementing their demands adding that the use of maximum force will aggravate the situation.
According to him, Nigerian will feel fulfilled when the government shows that it cares. He, however, expressed worry over the loss of lives following the infiltration of hoodlums in the EndSARS peaceful protests.
You will recall that the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has tendered an apology to Nigerians adding that it is understandable that they want to see action from the government.
However, Osinbajo revealed that work is ongoing over the protesters’ demands as he further stated that he chaired a meeting of 36 state governors and the Minister of the FCT (NEC), where they resolved to set up judicial panels of inquiry to ensure that justice is served.
