The Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy has announced that the Information, Communication and Technology, ICT sector contributed 17.83% to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2020 (Q2 2020). Chairman of the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission ODIEC, Professor Yomi Dinakin has announced that the All Progressives Congress, APC recorded a landslide victory during the Ondo council poll held on Saturday, August 22. The Lagos Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso has revealed that his counterpart in the Ministry of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi has tested positive for coronavirus. The Nasarawa state government has announced its plan to sack 1, 251 teachers in the state. According to the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Mohammed Dan’azimi, the teachers are to be sacked for not possessing the requisite teaching ability. The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC Professor Umar Garba Danbatta has urged telecom to make data prices more affordable to Nigerians. The Nigerian police force, NPF has announced the date for physical and credential screening of the 10,000 constables to be recruited into the force.
