The Federal government through the Nigerian Railway Commission, NRC has unveiled 24 newly acquired trains for the Lagos-Ibadan railway.
The commission in a tweet on Friday revealed that the new trains will run sixteen trips daily when the train operations begin in September.
“Lagos-Ibadan railway line will grace the newly acquired 24 coaches The trains will run 16 trips daily when operations begin next month, With this, you comfortably reside in Ibadan and work in Lagos.”
You will recall that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi had earlier revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the naming of some railway stations along the Lagos-Ibadan and the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri corridors after deserving Nigerian citizens.

The Nigerians include former Lagos state governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Apapa station), The late Mobolaji Johnson (Ebute Metta Station), Babatunde Raji Fashola (Agege station), Lateef Jakande (Agbado station) and Vice President (Kajola station).
Others are Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (Papalanto station), Wole Soyinka (Abeokuta station), Segun Osoba (Olodo station), Ladoka Akintola (Omio-Adio station), Obafemi Awolowo (Ibadan station) and Alex Ekwueme (Operations Control Centre) among others.
