Everevery.ng gathered that Mompha was re-arrested last Friday when he went to the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos to reclaim some items seized from him during his first arrest. The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sirika has announced the resumption of international flights in Nigeria. The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Unilorin VC Professor Sulyman Abdulkareem has disclosed that no date has been fixed for resumption of academic activities for students of the university. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS has released consumer price index indicating that Nigeria’s inflation rate rose further to 12.82 per cent in July. Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has reacted to the Tribunal ruling which nullified his election as the state governor. In his reaction, governor Diri revealed that he will appeal the ruling adding that he has instructed his lawyers to file the necessary papers. The Bayelsa Governorship election Tribunal has nullified the governorship election in the state and ordered fresh election within 90 days. The court nullified the election of Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo In a majority judgment delivered by Justice Yunusa Musa. The West African Examination Council, WAEC has denied report making the round that the Mathematics paper scheduled for Monday, August 17 has been leaked. Men of the Kano state police command have rescued another man allegedly held in captivity for 15 years by his father at Skeka quarters in Kano. Jose Filomeno dos Santos, the son of former Angola’s President, José Eduardo dos Santos has been sentenced to five years imprisonment over $500 million fraud. The 42-year old was sentenced by the Supreme Court in Angola after he was accused of trying to embezzle up to $1.5bn from the sovereign wealth fund. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has advised COVID-19 survivors on the need to adhere strictly to all the Coronavirus protocols.
