As the Edo state governorship elections draw closer, the Department of State Services, DSS has invited ten leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for what is described as an important meeting.
According to a letter obtained by Channels Television, dated August 20, 2020, it was stated that the invited APC leaders will be attending the meeting at the DSS Command Headquarters in Benin City on Saturday, August 22.
It was gathered that the letter was addressed to one Tony Adun who is also known as Kabakaba, though the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed.
Edo Elections
In the letter, Adun was asked to attend the meeting with the National Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria and eight other leaders of the APC in the state.
Other people invited by the DSS are Ehis Adams, Osaro Idahosa, Okha, and Okunbor Roberts, Atarodo, Kingsley Amedo, Richard Obe, Osarobo Idehen and Dr Emma.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had announced September 19 as the date for the Edo elections as it has cleared 14 candidates for the poll.
The electoral body noted that no political party can withdraw or substitute any of the nominated candidates after the final list of candidates had been published.
