Public officials receiving and spending security votes ought to come clean with Nigerians on how exactly these public funds are spent. Unless the reliefs sought are granted, Nigerians would continue to see the appropriation of public funds as security votes as a tool for self-enrichment.”

I watched a cartoon called Rango, the main character there is a chameleon. It is a parody of the Nigerian condition complete with Buhari, Burutai, Lai , and stupid citizens.

When he started backsliding to criminally break the law of the minimum wage by setting up a committee to make “consequential adjustments”, you did not even notice, perhaps you don’t even know he was committing impeachable criminal offense by attempting to change the provision of the law. He has no power to change, adjust, modify or amend in law whether consequentially or inconsequentially.

5.7 billion USD is a huge amount of money. That’s about 2 trillion naira or 20 – 25% of Nigeria’s annual budget. Imagine investing that huge amount in roads infrastructure, education, healthcare and water, projects that will yield immediate benefits and without having to wait for 6 – 10 years to complete?
