Superb Foden Led City to Victory as Alison Flops

Manchester City seal their top place position with an emphatic away win over Liverpool at Anfield. Phil Foden was on top form for his team as they registered four goals in the second half of the clash.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alison Becker made two costly errors to give City the lead after they missed a penalty in the first half. Alisson gifted Manchester City a 10th successive Premier League victory and a 10-point advantage over the defending champions Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah’s penalty had canceled out a close-range opener from Ilkay Gundogan, who missed a penalty in the first half of the game. Alisson made two mistakes with the ball at his feet, passing it to Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva, who found Gundogan and Raheem Sterling respectively to put Manchester City 3-1 ahead.

Magical Phil Foden Deserves Man of the Match

Phil Foden fired home an emphatic fourth goal to cap an impressive away performance from Pep Guardiola’s side. City now lead the table with five points clear of second-placed Manchester United who drew 3-3 last might against Everton.

It is Liverpool’s third straight home defeat in the English Premier League which has not happened in a long time. Liverpool first lost to Burnley 1-0 before losing to Brighton and now Manchester City.

It seems the hope for retaining the title has been thrown away and they are also out of the English F.A Cup. Their only trophy now is the Carabao Cup and the Uefa Champions League which comes up next week. Their game against German Side RB Leipzig has gotten a new venue and so they will not be a walkover for any team again.
