Super Eagles player Dayo Ojo and Abia Comets’ Benjamin Iluyomade has been reported to be kidnapped they were travelling from Akure on a break. The two players were together with Emmanuel James but he managed to escape from the attack.
The Super Eagles player represented Nigeria at senior level at the 2018 African Nations Championship and also at the youth level as Under 17 in 2010. He is currently playing for NPLFL side Enyimba, the news of their kidnap came just hours after the death of two NPFL players who plays for Enugu Rangers on Sunday morning in a car crash.

This is the first kidnapping case in the league since former coach of Northern club side Katsina United, Abdullahi Biffo, was captured and released in January 2019. Also another super Eagles player who had expirenced such evil act is Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu whose mother was held captive in March 2019 last year.
Samson Siasia the former Super Eagles head coach also had his mother kidnap and was released after a ransom was paid. “Enyimba Football Club can announce that midfielder Ekundayo Ojo has been abducted by gunmen along the Benin-Owo expressway. The kidnappers have not demanded for a ransom yet but the Nigerian police force are on the lookout for the kidnappers. Top of Form
