Manchester United was well in control when Rangnick decided to remove Ronaldo with 20 minutes left and send on Englishman Rashford. It was hardly controversial but we were treated to the full range of Ronaldo complaints as he walked off at snail’s pace, shaking his head and muttering before having a rather comical struggle with his coat in the dugout.
Ronaldo’s Action Not Accepted by United Boss
It was obvious the Portuguese was not happy with the decision of the coach but his action was completely unnecessary and it does not show any sign of a leader from the player. Manchester United head coach Rangnick was however completely unmoved as the former Real Madrid and Juventus star fumed out but was then completely justified in his decision as Rashford finished Brentford off with a lovely near-post finish that gave goalkeeper Jonas Lossl no chance.

Manchester United’s interim manager leaned over to give the pouting Portuguese what was presumably an explanation for his decision, not that he needed but it was needed he did it. Rashford’s goal is assumed to be the best explanation though. It was a needless exhibition by Ronaldo who, for all his brilliance, still gives off the air of a player and personality who almost thinks he is bigger than Manchester United. The game ended 3-1 in favour of United even though the Portuguese is not happy with the manager’s decision to remove him.
