Juventus suffered a shocking defeat in the first leg of the Uefa Champions League round of 16 games against FC Porto. Cristiano Ronaldo was missing in action in the game.
The home side opened the scoring in the first 63 seconds of the game after Mehdi Taremi capitalized on Rodrigo Bentancur’s low back pass to the goalkeeper and converted the ball after sliding in front of the goalie.
Ronaldo and Juventus played were outplayed in the first 45-minute of the game, but Adrien Rabiot almost had the equalizer, but it was pushed away. F.C Porto went on to double their lead.
Moussa Marega stroked home the second goal 19 seconds into the second half. Things looked very hard for the Italian until Federico Chiesa pulled a goal back with just eight minutes to the end of the game to give the visitors a live-line.
Zaidu Sanusi Excellent Against Ronaldo
One player who should be commended is Nigerian defender Zaidu Sanusi, and he was able to mark the world top player Cristiano Ronaldo and frustrated the Portuguese attempts.

Chiesa’s goal is a sure booster for the visitors, although Ronaldo was kept quiet in the game, the Italian international was able to show himself. Juventus still hope to qualify for the next stage of the competition, and theirs is better than Barcelona’s own.
Barca was dealt with by Mbappe at their famous Nou Camp 4-1 putting them in a very tight corner. They will need more than a miracle to qualify to the next stage. Should Juventus fail to win on the 9th of March and Barcelona loss also on the 10th then, we will not be seeing the two world best players in the 2020/21 Uefa Champions League again.
