Ikeme also met Ivorian defender Willy Bolly before going on to the pitch. The 35-year-old made ten appearances for the Nigerian senior national team before battling leukemia which ended his career. His first game for Nigeria was against Tanzania on the 5th of September, 2015 in which the game ended in a goalless draw.
