Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme made an emotional return to Wolves training ground as he participated in his first training session for the club in nearly five years. The former Nigeria international on his return went on a tour of the Wolves’ Compton Park training ground and met old friends and faces in the team.

The goalkeeper was taken around the training ground by Wolves goalkeeper, John Ruddy as he met with the coaching staff of the team and other officials of the Premier League side. In the video shared on the club’s YouTube page, the Carl Ikeme was seen exchanging deep hugs with Wolves captain, Connor Coady.
Ikeme also met Ivorian defender Willy Bolly before going on to the pitch. The 35-year-old made ten appearances for the Nigerian senior national team before battling leukemia which ended his career. His first game for Nigeria was against Tanzania on the 5th of September, 2015 in which the game ended in a goalless draw.
During his training with Wolves on his return, Ikeme showed impressive reflexes and looked sharp like he never left. However, it is not yet clear if the former Super Eagles goalie has fully returned to action.
