Manchester City has reportedly opened talks concerning former Liverpool star winger Raheem Sterling. The player who struggled throughout the season for lack of performance could get another season or more to show himself and corrects his mistakes as the club is willing to discuss a contract extension with him.
Raheem Sterling and Manchester City Begins New Contract Talks
The 26-year-old underperformed, judging from his previous seasons with the club. He struggled to show his best form for the Citizens during the 2020-21 campaign. Raheem Sterling was able to score 14 times despite his poor form in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Sterling is no longer assured of a spot in Pep Guardiola’s first XI, and a recent report claimed that the former Liverpool man could be joining Aguero to leave the club at the end of the season. But on the contrarily, Man City are preparing to open a contract extension with the player.
The report claims that Sterling wants to wait until the end of the season to begin talks, but the Citizens are hopeful that he will commit his future to the club. The Englishman could start Man City’s Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday but is likely to be named on the bench for the Champions League final against Chelsea on May 29.
