Crystal Palace and Dutch defender Patrick van Aanholt leave Crystal Palace when his contract expires at the end of this month, June. The 30-year-old left-back is one of several players who wants to leave the south London club this summer.
Patrick van Aanholt and Crystal Set to Pathways
Van Aanholt is part of the Netherlands squad currently playing the Euro 2020 and started in their 3-2 Group C win over Ukraine. The player has been offered a contract from a top Turkish side Galatasaray, and there is also interest from some clubs in the English Premier League, Italy and Spain.
Van Aanholt joined Crystal Palace from Sunderland in January 2017 for £14m and has since been impactful. The Eagles reportedly hold off extending player contracts until the club appoints a new manager after they sack Roy Hodgson.
The club chairman Steve Parish told the media that the club has to get this summer’s transfer dealings correct. He also said: “We have got to get the manager right. It’s no secret that we have a good opportunity to refresh the squad.”
