How Super Eagles Left-back Yisa Sofoluwe Dead
According to reports, the ex-Super Eagles defender died on Tuesday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. He was diagnosed with mild cerebral atrophy, a brain disease.
The player made 40 appearances for Nigeria and scored one goal. He was Super Eagles regular left-back between 1983 and 1988. The Super Eagles left-back played in the 1984 and 1988 African Nations.
Yisa Sofoluwe played for Julius Berger and Gateway United, and he won two F.A Cups. He is the first sportsperson to die in Nigeria and is not good news for Nigerian sports fans who suffer the loss of many NPFL players in 2020
