Nemanja Matic Extends his Contract with Manchester United
Manchester United and Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic has extended his contract with the club until June 2023. The 31-year-old Serbian international who joined Manchester United from Chelsea in 2017contarct was to be due in June 2021, he has now penned down a new contract that will have him remain the club until 2023.
According to Matic, he said: “As a player, I still have a lot more to give and achieve in my career and to do that with Manchester United will be a huge honour.” “This is a really exciting team to be part of, we have a good balance of youth and experience within the squad.”
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he was “delighted” Nemanja Matic has extended his deal, he said: “I know his experience, professionalism and leadership will be invaluable to this young talented group. “Nemanja has been here for three seasons now and really understands the values of playing for Manchester United.”
Nemanja Matic has played 27 times in all competitions for the club this season with the team yet to lose since January a run of 16 games in all competitions – and sit fifth in the Premier League table.
