World best player and the second world best player Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have both rejected a huge financial deal from Saudi Arabia to be the face of their latest tourism drive.
Ronaldo and Messi Rejects Mouth Watering Deal from Saudi Arabia
Former Manchester and Real Madrid forward Ronaldo who became football’s all-time leading goalscorer in official games with his 760th strike just last week. He rejected an offer amounting around £5.3million per year to be the face of Saudi Arabia face of tourism.
Cristiano Ronaldo rejected the offer from the Country upon his refusal it was now offered to Lionel Messi who also rejected the offer. According to reports Messi’s representative told them they do not comment on commercial projects and did not confirm he had been approached for the role, whilst Ronaldo’s representatives also declined to comment.
The two soccer legends rejected the offer because of human right issues involving Saudi Arabia.
It is claimed the deal would include the player visiting Saudi and being used in all promotional material. The country has been involved in an ongoing international controversy over its human rights.
Saudi Arabia was accused of human rights violations and criticised for its role in the war in Yemen. Sport has been the tool used by the country to push their country back to the heart of people but Ronaldo and Messi have refused to used to be the stepping stone to their uprise which has not been settled world wide.
