Liverpool to Face Arsenal without Two Key Players

Liverpool and Arsenal Battle in Matchday 3

Liverpool duo Alisson and new signing Thiago Alcantara are currently in doubt if they will feature in the game against Arsenal which comes up this evening at Anfield. It is Liverpool’s first English Premier League Monday night football game. Both players did well in their last game against Chelsea which ended 2-0 in their favour.

According to reports both Alisson and Alcantara have added to the manager’s worries, as they are said to be nursing minor fitness issues, and have sat out training over the past few days. Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip among those likely to miss out, Jurgen Klopp already had a minor selection crisis on his hands and so this two is now is adding to his worries.

Jurgen Klopp is waiting to see if they are able to take part in Sunday’s session, and dependent on the advice from his medical staff, he will make a decision at the last minute on whether they are fit to be involved. Neither player featured in the 7-2 win over Lincoln during the week, but that was to be expected given how low the EFL Cup ranks in Klopp’s list of priorities.

Liverpool and Arsenal will face each other in the Premier League, a real football festival is guaranteed. The two old rivals go head to head at Anfield on Monday evening after winning their respective league fixtures at the weekend. The Reds did well to beat ten-man Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, and they will be looking to keep their 100% record intact when they take on Arsenal on Matchday 3.

The Gunners kicked off the new Premier League campaign in style as well, with the team beating local rivals Fulham and West Ham United, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Monday’s showdown. Anyhow, over 2.5 goals betting option should be considered as both sides have been impressive in front of goal of late. Jordan Henderson should recover in time to face Arsenal, while Kieran Tierney should be fit to play for the visitors.
