The Ligue 1 side was the most favourite during the transfer window as they signed a couple of big star players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos. They paraded superstars such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe, yet the team failed to overcome the Belgian club side.
In a chat with BT Sport, Michael Owen said that the Paris club is way below being considered as favourites for the Champions League title. According to him, he said: “As much as we drool over them, this PSG team with those forwards, they’re all phenomenal players in their own right.”
He also said: “But three together makes it weaker for me and I don’t really understand why they’re one of the favourites for it (the Champions League). I think the English teams (Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Man United) are far, far superior.” The former England international ended by saying: “I almost feel as though the signing of the likes of Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos gives them more of a chance of winning it (the Champions League) than the signing of someone like Messi.”
