Its Executive Secretary, Mr Tony Ojukwu made the call in Abuja while reacting to the invasion of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Dec. 6 by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to rearrest Omoyele Sowore who was earlier released by the same department.

Sowore was granted bail, which the DSS grudgingly complied with after some standoff with the court. The next thing, the court adjourned the trial till February 11. The DSS planned to rearrest him immediately to deny him the freedom occasioned by his bail.

Already, the country is being weaponized and armed militias are rising fast to fill the void created by absence of law enforcement in remote areas of the country. Instead of working to stabilize the country through the enforcement of rule of law and constitutional order, we are here desecrating it on the altar of political exigency. This will never end well.

The challenges are delay, I had some setbacks. I can say that the environment affected me to some extent. Getting a quality education has been a big problem, though, it depends on one’s financial strength. One of the challenges is not going to school on time. If you take a look, majority of those who had their primary and secondary school here didn’t finish at early age, people don’t get enrolled in school as expected, especially in the villages. Though, I can see some improvements these days.
