Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani has signed a new contract with the club to remain in the club until 2023. According to reports, the attacker’s recent performance has made the club offer a new contract. He signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester United.
Manchester United Delighted to Offer Edinson Cavani New Deal
The 34-years-old Edison Cavani joined Manchester United on a one-year deal in the previous summer and autumn transfer window, which means his contract was supposed to be due by the end of next month. The player’s efforts and form have demanded the club to extend his contract. He was supposed to be a free agent at the end of next month, which is June.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been determined to tie the Uruguay striker, who has scored 15 goals in 35 games this season, down to a new deal for some time. A potential extension initially appeared off the cards when Cavani’s father claimed his son was not happy in the club. Cavani’s father said this last month, and he said his son wanted to head back to South America to sign for Argentinian club Boca Juniors.
But the player has been convinced to stay put in Manchester and help Solskjaer’s men bid to win the Premier League title next term. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on Twitter: “Edinson Cavani has signed his contract extension with Manchester United, here we go! Fabrizio also wrote: “The agreement has been completed, Cavani has accepted to stay after Man Utd board and Solskjaer was pushing to keep him. “Confirmed and done deal.”
