English Premier League side Everton is closing in on 25-year-old Demarai Gray, who left Leicester in January 2021 and signed an 18-month deal with the German side Bayern Leverkusen. The player could only feature 12 times the whole of last season, scoring one goal for the German side.
Everton Close to Signing Demarai Gray
Everton is considering making the player their next buy after Townsend. He signed Townsend recently from Crystal Palace after his contract with the club expired. Meanwhile, Everton is considering letting Brazilian winger Bernard leave as United Arab Emirates club side Sharjah FC has shown interest in the player.
Also, there has been interested from clubs in Russia and Greece too. Demarai Gray would be Rafael Benitez’s third signing since joining Everton as the club’s head coach late last month. On Tuesday, both Townsend and Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic signed for the Toffees.
Everton has flown to the United States to participate in the Florida Cup without Fabian Delph because he is self-isolating. The club took the precautionary measure after the 31-year-old midfielder contacted someone who has since tested positive for coronavirus.
