Chelsea Back to Winning ways
It was a return to winning ways for The Blues Chelsea as thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 in Saturday’s Premier League game at Stamford Bridge. Prior to Saturday’s fixture Chelsea had failed to win their last two league games, losing to Liverpool and drewing with West Bromwich Albion last week.
After a goalless first half, Chelsea eventually opened the scoring on 50 minutes through Chilwell on his 100th Premier League appearance as he smashed in a loose ball from close range. Chelsea new signing Ben Chilwell gave the opener in the second half of the game as the first half ended in a stalemate. A brace from Italian Jorginho, both from the penalty spot, and a goal Chelsea a comfortable home win for the Blues.
Chilwell is now just the third player to both score and assist a goal on their Premier League debut for Chelsea, after Deco in August 2008 and Alvaro Morata in August 2017. It is Chelsea’s first clean shit since the start of the new season, their first game ended 3-1 and the second ended 2-0 against Liverpool they then drew 3-3 last week against West Brom. The win took Chelsea to fourth position on seven points in the league table.
