Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has been ruled out for at least four to five months due to a knee injury. The 26-year-old picked up the injury in a collision with Leicester City’s Ayoze Perez during their 2-1 loss. Raya has been Brentford’s’ first-choice goalkeeper during their nine games in the Premier League.
Brentford Goalkeeper David Raya for Months
The club released a statement about the player, saying: “David has unfortunately sustained an injury to the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.” The information was released by the club’s lead doctor Neil Greig. He confirmed that the injury usually heals well without surgery, so there will be no surgery.

The shot-stopper has already begun using a brace specifically designed to aid this process. The club says they expect the Spanish international to return to fitness before the end of the season.
Greig concluded by saying they anticipate the recovery period for the injury to be at most five months, and he believes the David Raya will be back soon on his feet again.
