Former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov has said Manchester United manager and the management should consider extending Nigerian striker’s loan contract because he believes the Nigerian has done very well so far. Manchester United will reach an agreement with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua over his loan deal and Berbatov hopes they will extend his contract.
Odion Ighalo joined Manchester United from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua on a six-month loan in January. The 30-year-old has scored four goals in eight appearances for the Red Devils so far. The loan deal is to expire at the end of this month with the former Watford and Granada player expected to return to China on Monday for the start of the new season.

Dimitar Berbatov, however, believes Manchester United should extend the striker’s contract because of his performance since joining the club. Berbatov said: “It is looking like Ighalo will be going back to China, but hopefully, for United’s sake they can agree on an extension.” “He deserves it, he has done great at United and he surprised many people with how he played in such a short time. Berbatov added.
He also said: “I’m sure he wants to stay, but now it’s about if the two teams can come to an understanding, but it’s also a money factor as they will offer him a lot of money to go back.”
