Hans-Dieter Flick Lifts First Trophy with Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga has been crowned the champions of German Bundesliga after their 1-0 away win at Werder Bremen last night. Polish international Robert Lewandowski’s first-half lone strike was enough to hand them the league title and send Wender Bremen to relegation.
Werder Bremen did well but German champions Bayern Munich was too good for them, Bayern was however reduced to ten men after Alphonso Davies was shown a second yellow card, but the hosts could not find the back of the net.
Bayern manager Hans-Dieter Flick who was appointed as the new club manager in November and used his first game to seal his deal after dismantling Borussia Dortmund 4-0. The title is his first with the club, and the eight in a roll for the German side, both him and his boys will now focus on the Champions League where they will be hosting Chelsea.
They already have a three-goal advantage over Chelsea and so they are sure of a next stage qualification. Hans-Dieter Flick’s men under him scored four or more goals on seven occasions since January, they have scored an overall tally of 132 goals breaking the record of 1972-73 season when they played in four competitions as Germany also had a league cup.
