Arsenal continues in their poor as Aston Villa beat them in the English Premier League matchday 23 1-0. New goalkeeper Mat Ryan conceded a 74 seconds goal into his debut for Arsenal.
Aston Villa Back to Winning Ways
Aston Villa completed their first top-flight double over Arsenal for 28 years. The game has Arsenal’s former goalkeeper Emiliano saving all Arsenal shots to ensure his side wins the day.
Emiliano Martinez started the move which led to Bertrand Traore intercepting the pass from Cedric to Gabriel before laying it for Ollie Watkins to score a shot that deflected off Rob Holding.
Arsenal first-choice goalkeeper Leno was not in the game, he and defender David Luiz were both given red cards in their last game against Wolves which ended 2-1. Ryan who joined Arsenal on loan did well on his debut but the early goal spoilt his debut.
Arsenal’s former goalie Martinez frustrated his former club as he was in action to stop all Gunner’s efforts. The Argentine produced an excellent save to keep out Granit Xhaka’s free-kick in the first half of the game.
Aston Villa has now moved up to the eighth-place position in the English Premier League table while Arsenal occupies the 10th place position.
