Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic has explained why he is mostly to retire at AC Milan. He said he could play with a third generation of the Maldini family even though he said it on a jovial note. The former Inter Milan and Juventus forward was a guest on Che Tempo Che Fa on Rai Tre to discuss his new book, ‘Adrenaline.’ The player who recently clocked 40 seems not to be tired just yet.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic Ready to Remain at AC Milan
Zlatan Ibrahimovic goalscoring form is still very much sharp, and his contract with the club will expire at the end of this season. He was asked about his future with the club, and he said: “I want to play as long as possible, and as long as I have that adrenaline, I will continue.” Ibrahimovic also said: “Let’s put pressure on Milan here to give me an extension, and I hope to stay in Milan for life. I still have objectives that I can achieve, and I want to win another Scudetto.”
The striker was asked if he fears what might come after him when he finally retires, and he said he does not know what will happen after football, so he said he is not ready to stop yet, and he wants to continue playing so that he doesn’t have any regrets.
AC Milan is currently ON top of the Serie A table, one point clear of Inter and two above Napoli, so the title race is wide open. Ibrahimovic is one of the few who has been able to play on the same pitch as two generations of the same family, as director Paolo Maldini was his opponent and now son Daniel is his teammate. About that, he said: “It’s wonderful. We’ll see if the adrenaline continues, and I can play with Daniel’s son as well!” laughed the 40-year-old.
