Wilfred Zaha Could be Leaving Crystal Palace Next Season
Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace is “so set on leaving” Crystal Palace as Chelsea forward Pedro is also eyeing English Premier League exit with Italian Seria A top side keeping close eyes on the player. Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says he is very sure the Ivorian will not be with them next season.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast forward who was racially abused recently in EPL by a 2-year-old by was linked with moves to both Everton and Arsenal last summer. However, a deal failed to materialise and Hodgson says the speculation impacted on the player this season. According to the manager, he said: “It’s obviously affected him because his form in the last few weeks has really been quite poor considering what he is capable of doing.”T
Hodgson also said: “It’s a dilemma for the club and a dilemma for him if he is so set on leaving. If he feels he just does not want to be with us any more, that would be sad.” “We still like him very much; we can’t make him like us. This is a situation that only he and the club can sort out. I don’t have an answer.”
Wilfred Zaha, who came through Palace’s academy, left to join Manchester United in 2013 before returning to Selhurst Park in 2014, initially on loan. Known for his trickery and close control, Zaha scored 10 league goals in 2018-19 but managed just four this term, his lowest tally since the 2015-16 campaign.
Also, Spanish striker Pedro has played his last league game for Chelsea confirmed by manager Frank Lampard, the forward, who will be 33 on Tuesday, came on for the final few minutes of Sunday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Wolves. Pedro joined Chelsea from Barcelona for £21m in 2014, he has helped Chelsea secure the Premier League title in 2016-17 and also won the FA Cup and Europa League. Rumours have it that Serie A club AS Roma is interested in the player and he could be joining them on a free transfer
