Ansu Fati and Messi Secures win for Barca
Young Ghanian who plays for Spain and Barcelona Ansu Fati was sharing the stage with Argentina and Barcelona captain Lionel Messi yesterday in their win over Leganes. Barca beat Kenneth Omerou and Chidozie Awaziem’s Leganes 2-0 yesterday, Lionel scored the second goal from the penalty spot while the young Ghanian opened the scoring.
Ansu Fati and Lionel Messi scored in each half of the match to hand the La Liga champions the much-needed win to remain top the table. Leganes should have gone two goals ahead in the opening 15 minutes of the match but Miguel Angel Guerrero failed to convert his chances.
Miguel Angel Guerrero’s first shot hit the post with Marc-Andre ter Stegen completely beaten in goal and the second opportunity was cleared off the line by Gerard Pique. Ansu Fati did not make a mistake with his own as he opened the scoring in the first 42nd minute of the game with a right-footed shot which went passed through the legs of Rodrigo Tarin to beat the goalie Ivan Cuellar.
Barca had most of the possession as expected, Lionel Messi doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 69th minute of the game. He was fouled by Leganes defender inside the penalty box and was awarded a penalty. The Barca captain converted the resulting spot-kick to double the lead for the champions.
