Wolves Fails to Meet Manchester United in the Europa League Semi-finals
Wolves’ Europa League dream came to an end yesternight as Spanish La Liga side beat them after a hard fight. The game ended 1-0 in favour of the Spanish team, it was a heartbreaking end for the English Premier League side Wolves who failed to book a place in the semi-finals with their fellow English Premier League side Manchester United who beat Copahengen to book their place in the semi-finals which will be played in Duisburg.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side whose pandemic-disrupted 2019-20 season lasted 383 days had a glorious 13th-minute chance to take the lead who Adama Troere was brought down in the penalty box but Raul Jimenez’s penalty was saved. They struggled to create chances after that and failed to hold on for extra time as Argentine Lucas Ocampos found the back of the net through a header from Ever Banega’s cross with just two minutes left to play.
Wolves will not be in European competition next season after failing to finish in the top-six position, they finished in the seventh-place position in the Premier League table. For the Five-time winners Sevilla who have been unbeaten in 19 games in all competitions they will face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United side in Dusseldorf on Sunday while Inter Milan will play Shakhtar Donetsk.
