Premier League newcomers Watford have opened talks with Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu who plays for KRC Genk in Belgium. According to reports, the Hornets are in the market for a new striker, with options up front thin on the ground for the time being.

They decided to add the Nigerian to their squad and so, they are currently in contact with his agent. Onuachu has generated interest from a number of clubs in the English Premier League after an excellent campaign in the Belgian Pro League last season.

The 27–year-old scored 35 goals in 41 games across all competitions for Genk in the 2020/21 season, and very few attackers have scored more goals than him in Europe last season. According to the Watford Observer, the Hornets are understood to have made their interest known to Genk, but discussions are not thought to be at an advanced stage yet.
Watford is not the only club in talks with the player as English Premier League, the likes of Arsenal, West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion are also rumoured to be in contact with the player. if the Hornets signs him, he will be the third Nigerian in the club. The club signed Emmanuel Dennis last month and Isaac Success is in the club as well.
