Super Eagles drop out, Umar Sadiq was on target again as Almeria beat lower division side Amorebieta 2-1 in the second round of the Copa del Rey on Thursday to advance to the next stage the competition. On Saturday, Sadiq got on the score sheet in Almeria’s 3-0 home win against Real Zaragoza in the league. The former AS Roma player scored again as his side advanced to the next stage of the Copa del Rey.

The 24-year-old has scored nine goals in all competitions for his club this season. Sadiq gave Almeria the lead in the 24th minute, but Amorebieta equalised on 56 minutes through Inigo Orozco. Ameria restored their victory in the 61st minute through Ghanian star Arvin Appiah. The player got the winning goal for Almeria.
Up next for the Spanish Segunda side, Almeria is an away fixture against Lugo in the Segunda division, which comes up on Monday. The Nigerian, who has been on the radar of some top English Premier League clubs, is yet to return to the Super Eagles since his fallout.
