Madrid Joins Man Utd, Liverpool in Nuno Mendes Chase
Reigning champions of the Spanish La Liga Real Madrid have joined English Premier League duo of Liverpool and Manchester United in the chase for Sporting Lisbon star Nuno Mendes.
Liverpool and Manchester United have been in the tussle for the player who is just 18-years of age before the start of the season. Now, Los Blancos have joined the race, it is expected that Sporting Lisbon will do business with the highest bidders in the signing of Nuno Mendes.
According to the report, the three clubs are not the only clubs who wants the player, the likes of Juventus and AC Milan are also interested in the player.
Reports also have it that it was former Manchester United winger Nani who alerted the Red Devils chiefs to go for Mendes before the EPL club sent scouts to watch him. Manchester United have been having a very tough time following their exit from the Uefa Champions League.
Nuno Mendes has so far played 17 games for Sporting Lisbon this season and has recorded one goal for them. He started his career at Sporting Lisbon’s youth and later made it to the first squad before the start of the ongoing League season.
Should Manchester United sign him he will become the fourth player to join Manchester United from the Portuguese side after Ronaldo, Nani and Bruno Fernandes.
