Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has come out to speak about what he feels about his side qualifying for the Champions League after several failed attempts. The Juventus goalkeeper said he feels it will take “a couple of years” before his former side will return to the Champions League.
Wojciech Szczesny says it will Take many Years before Arsenal will Make Champions League Return
Wojciech Szczesny came through the club’s academy and made 181 appearances for the club, before a two-year loan spell at AS Roma in 2015 was followed by a free transfer to Juventus in 2017. The Pole still keeps a close eye on his former club, though, and believes manager Mikel Arteta will steer them back to Europe’s top tier competition in the next “couple of years.”

He said: “As a fan, it was disappointing. They gave it a good go and nobody would have said before the season started that they had a chance.” Arsenal missed a golden opportunity to qualify for the Uefa Champions League as they failed to beat Newcastle United and gave their North London rival Tottenham Hotspur a chance to go ahead of them.
