Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa and Paul Onuachu have arrived the team’s Hotel Die Zeit camp ahead of Friday’s international friendly encounter against Algeria. The duo joined their teammates in camp on Tuesday afternoon missing out on the team’s first training session earlier in the day.
All the 24 invited players are now in camp with the team now expected to intensify preparation for the game. Onuachu was invited to replace Napoli striker Victor Osimhen who is currently stock in Italy after one player in their camp tested positive for Coronavirus.
The 26-year-old has scored seven goals for Club Brugge in the Belgian League this season. The Super Eagles will take on African champions Algeria on Friday night before they tackle Tunisia next week Tuesday. They head into their first training session in Austria on Monday donning the new Nike kits and looking great ahead friendly clash with Algeria.
Nike had earlier in February unveiled new jerseys for Nigeria’s national teams, which were recently modelled by some Super Eagles stars like Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and William Troost-Ekong.
The Nigeria players and some officials who are in camp for the upcoming friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia were seen excitedly posing in the new kits before and during their training session in Austria. The likes of Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Troost Ekong with few new arrivals all posted with the new kits.
The first friendly game will be held in the Worthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt on Friday and then play the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the same venue on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
