Super Eagles now 35th in Fifa Ranking
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have the ended the year 2020 in 35th position in the latest Fifa ranking. This was made known by the world’s football governing body Fifa recently, it is the last release of the year and it shows Nigeria is currently in the 35th position.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria has been unproductive the year 2020. Nigeria failed to win any match throughout the year 2020. The final ranking for the year 2020 has placed Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 35th position. Nigeria dropped three points from their initial 32nd place position in October to 35th now.
The three-time African giants were forced to back-to-back draws by the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone. The first meeting at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin ended 4-4 despite Gernot Rohr’s taking a four-goal lead in the first 30 minutes of their fixture, while reverse fixture in Freetown ended goal-less.
Other African teams ranked well as Senegal is placed in the 22nd place position and Tunisia in the 26th position. The two African teams are the first and second in Africa respectively.
In the 31st position is the reigning AFCON champions Algeria retain their position as Africa’s third-best team while Morocco and Nigeria are both on 35th position in the world chart.
Belgium, France and Brazil maintained the first, second and third respectively while England and Portugal complete the top five.
