Shakhtar Donetsk Rolled over F.C Basel in Europa League Quarter Final
Shakhtar Donetsk rolled over Basel last night 4-1 to book their semi-final spot with Italian Serie A side Inter Milan who cruised German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. Shakhtar Donetsk completely played out FC Basel from the start of the game to the finish, the game was played in Gelsenkirchen behind closed doors.
Júnior Moraes opened the scoring just two minutes into the game before Taison doubled the lead in the 22nd minute of the game, the goals kept coming as Alan Patrick Lourenco made the scores 3-0 in the 75th minute through a penalty, Cordeiro Dos Santos rounded up the scoring to book a Europa League semi-final with Inter Milan. F.C Basel striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel was able to get his side a goal in the 90’+ minutes of the game but it was only a consolation goal.
Shakhtar Donetsk will face Italian side Inter Milan in Dusseldorf on the 17th of this month which on Monday next week, while Manchester United will play Sevilla who knocked out English Premier League side Wolverhampton.
