Legendary Barcelona and Cameroon super striker Samuel Eto’o was involved in a car accident. The player is currently stable in the hospital where he is receiving treatment. He was involved in a horror car accident, according to reports.
Samuel Eto’o was said to have been driving home from a wedding in his native Cameroon when he had the accident. His car was hit by a bus on Sunday morning on his way back from the wedding. The 39-year-old suffered a head injury and was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.
However, it is suggested the two-time AFCON winner is recovering well under close attention from doctors.
Cameroonian journalist Martin Camus tweeted a picture of Eto’o. He said: “I can confirm that he is fine, we spoke again. Doctors taking care of additional examinations.”
Eto’o spent five years with Barcelona before leaving for Inter Milan in 2009. He was part of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning side at Inter Milan.
Eto’o enjoyed a stint in the Premier League with Chelsea and Everton while winning 118 caps for his country. In total, he won 11 major club silverware in his career including three Champions League titles.
Also, he was part of the Cameroonian side that won gold in the football event of the Sydney 2000 Olympic games.
