Ronald Koeman set to take over from Van Gaal as Dutch Head Coach
59-year-old Koeman will replace 70-year-old Louis van Gaal as he had taken a break to attend to his health. The manager is now receiving treatment for prostate cancer. Koeman upon his arrival on the national team said: “Proud to share that after the World Cup I will once again fulfill the role of national coach.”
He also said: “Very much looking forward to this new challenge, on to achieving new successes together.” Ronald Koeman, who has managed in England at Southampton and Everton, was in charge of the Dutch national side between 2018-and 2020 and had been out of a job after he was sacked by Barcelona last year.
