Former Everton and new Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman have come to blast Paris Saint-Germain, and Argentine star Angel di Maria for saying Lionel Messi is likely to join the Franch Ligue 1 Cham[ions.
Why Ronald Koeman Blast Di Maria
Angel di Maria claimed that Lionel Messi could join him at the Parc des Princes next season, this comment did not land well with the Dutchman, he was not happy with di Maria comment.
In the final year of his contract with Barcelona and the Ligue 1 champions, Lionel Messi is among the big clubs coming to sign him. Di Maria is not the first to say this, and Ronald Koeman always comes out to condemn everyone who tries to link the Argentine with the French side.
In January, Paris Saint Germain’s Sporting Director Leonardo said that the door is opened to the 33-year-old Argentine to come, to counter this Koeman came to criticize the statement.
The manager slammed Angel di Maria after he said Messi could join them. Di Maria said: “Great players like Messi will always be on PSG’s list. But this is of course not the time to talk about it, or to dream about it.”
He also said he would be willing to play with his countryman, and he was asked this after their 3-0 win over Nimes. He said: “Yes, yes, I hope so. “There are many possibilities. We have to be calm, and things will develop,” he replied the interviewer.
Ronald Koeman was not happy at all with the comments, and he said Di Maria was disrespectful. He said: “It seems to me a lack of respect. Someone can be wrong in saying something like that.”
He further said It is not fair, and he does not think it is right to speak like about his player. Koeman also said many people from PSG talk a lot about Messi, and he is not happy about it.
